Serving Clients in and Near Boston

In addition to serving clients in Boston proper, we also handle auctions and estate in surrounding communities, including (but not limited to):

Acton, Andover, Arlington, Ashland, Bedford, Belmont, Bolton, Boxborough, Boylston, Brookline, Burlington, Cambridge, Canton, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Cohasset, Concord, Dedham, Dover, Dunstable, Easton, Groton, Harvard, Holliston, Hopkinton, Lexington, Lincoln, Littleton, Lynnfield, Malden, Mansfield, Medfield, Milton, Natick, Needham, Newton, North Andover, Norwell, Reading, Sharon, Scituate, Sherborn, Somerville, Southborough, Stoneham, Stow, Swampscott, Sudbury, Wakefield, Wayland, Wellesley, Westborough, Westford, Weston, Westwood, Weymouth, and Winchester – and many more communities.

We’ve run estate sales or auctions in most of those cities/towns and others in greater Boston and Metrowest.  In general, we serve clients throughout Middlesex, Norfolk, Essex, northern Bristol, northern Plymouth, and Worcester counties.

We can work with clients of all shapes and sizes: individuals, families, attorneys, museums, historical societies, & others

As you’d expect, many of our clients are individuals, couples, or families who have valuables they want or need to sell for the maximum value.  Some of them have collections they would like to auction, whereas many others have inherited a relative’s estate and may be the personal representative.  Sometimes we work with attorneys – estate, probate, or elder-law attorneys – who are helping their clients liquidate an estate.  With so many grand old estates in the Boston area, missions like those have become second-nature to us.  We know the ins and outs of your situation

Of course, given Boston’s place as one of the most historical places in America and probably the museum capital of the hemisphere, we’re also used to helping museums and historical societies get a great return for pieces of history that they have cared for.  If you represent a museum or other bearer of history, we can help you both raise money and pass the torch.

Reviews from Auction Clients in and around Boston

“Wayne Tuiskula, president of Central Mass Auctions, as well as his employees, helped my family so much in 2005 when my parents had passed away and leaving quite a large estate in Sudbury. He made it so easy in appraising, moving and auctioneering off a vast amount of furniture and antiques (my Dad was an antique collector) during a sensitive time in my life. I’ve worked with him for the past 10 or 11 years consigning antiques and jewelry and have the highest regard and praise for his honesty and ability to obtain a fair price during the many transactions with him. I’ve dealt with other companies and by far he is the best.”
—Audrey Capuano, Brookline (as reviewed on Google)

“Had a very positive experience dealing with Central Mass Auctions from day one. They were very professional and easy to work with. I would highly recommend them.
—Maurice McDonald, Boston (as reviewed on Google)

“I can’t say enough good things about Central Mass Auctions. I needed to dispose of a large estate collection of art and antiques. They were responsive and helpful, in stark contrast to several other auctioneers and dealers. The results were better than I could have hoped for, and they were very prompt in sending me the proceeds. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing such services.”
—Eileen Cecilia (as reviewed on Google)

“I’m really grateful for the experience I had with Central Mass Auctions. I had a large number of items that I knew had value, and I was at a loss as far as figuring out next steps. Wayne was great about answering my many questions and ensured the process of consigning my items was very smooth. Everything was fair and up front. This is definitely the way to go!”
—Karen Manning, Newton (as reviewed on Google)

“Wayne Tuiskula is the most dedicated, hard-working auctioneer I know. Central Mass Auctions painstakingly liquidated my 4800 square foot warehouse filled three tiers high with all range of furniture, fine art and decorative accessories. He did so in an organized, comprehensive manner. He fulfilled every promise he made to me. And as a kind, thoughtful and fair businessman, Wayne readily became my hero. I recommend him not only to anyone seeking the best value in auctioning a single item, but particularly to anyone facing a seemingly impossible task.”
—Heidi Pribell, Waltham (as reviewed on Google)

“What an amazing job by Central Mass Auctions! They let me know the exact date of the auction, which involved my mom’s jewelry, well ahead of time. They promised a payout time that they perfectly adhered too. The payout was also much higher than I expected. Kudos to Wayne T. and his team for doing such a great job!”

“I worked with Wayne at Central Mass Auctions, and I can’t say enough! He provided us with an appraisal for some historic items, and the results were great! He was very knowledgeable of the appraisal items, and offered some history on a few of the pieces. If you are looking for a professional company, and knowledgeable staff, contact Central Mass Auctions!”
—Pamela Lyons, Historic Commission, City of Waltham (read more on Google)

“I highly recommend Wayne Tuiskula and Central Mass Auctions. Wayne helped us twice when we had to downsize each of our parents and a third time when I came across my old Barbie doll collection. When I think of Wayne I think of his integrity and his vast and diverse knowledge of antiques. Wayne helped us decide how to get the most money for all the different belongings we had to dispose of. When we needed a specialist, he brought us to one. His consignment price was fair and we feel like we did very well each time when he sold our items at his auctions. We highly recommend Wayne and Central Mass Auctions.”
—Barbara Stone Doucette, Lexington (as reviewed on Facebook)

“Our family had a very positive experience with Wayne and his staff at Central Mass Auctions. When our parent’s home in Newton needed to be emptied and sold after 50 years of accumulation, we needed expert advice and help, and time was important. We chose Wayne because Central Mass offered both Estate Sales and Auctions. In our case there were items that were best sold at auction, and others left in place for an Estate Sale. Wayne knew the value of a variety of items, and when he didn’t, he had resources who did. We were successful in our goals, and pleased with the compassionate, fair and timely services of Central Mass Auctions.”
—Mary, Newton (as reviewed on Google)

“We didn’t have a lot of antique items, but we were not sure if anything was of value when cleaning out my Uncle’s house. Wayne was able to look at the items and tell me what would be worthy to auction. The best part was I didn’t have to spend my time on websites trying to sell it myself and it was well worth it to have Central Mass auction it off for me with unexpected money in our pockets! Thank you Wayne & Central Mass Auctions!”
—Lori Millett (as reviewed on Google)

“Wayne and his associates are real life savers. My in -laws ran a bed and breakfast for over 30 years and accumulated a tremendous amount of antiques, collectibles and other “stuff”. As a result of sudden medical conditions we had to liquidate the bed and breakfast quickly. I called Wayne and he came right out and his associates went through and organized the entire house and outbuildings and conducted an estate sale within a matter of weeks. As a result of their established connections and reputation hundreds of people attended the sale. I would highly recommend Wayne and his associates.”

“I am so impressed with this company, and all the people that work for it. I stumbled upon an auction they were hosting, and went several times to the event they held over a couple days. Not only was everything extremely well organized but the way in which it was held was impressive. This auction happened to be an estate auction, they had information both on line and in person. They were respectful, pleasant, flexible, and just all around trustworthy. One of the items I bid and won in this auction was extremely expensive. The whole thing couldn’t have been more smooth and I got exactly what I was expecting and what was described. In fact Wayne went above and beyond. If there ever comes a time I need to hire a company to sell my items, Wayne would be my first call. As a buyer, I wouldn’t hesitate from buying again. Just great people!”
