Holiday Collectibles Auctions: Sell Your Halloween, Christmas, 4th of July, & Other Memorabilia at Auction
Collecting is largely about nostalgia, and not much creates nostalgia the way holidays do. That’s why certain vintage holiday collectibles can be so popular and valuable.
Three holidays dominate the holiday collectibles scene: Halloween, Christmas, and the 4th of July.
Central Mass Auctions can help you sell your holiday collectibles at auction, and for the highest return. You can contact us today, or read on to find out more about valuable holiday collectibles.
Halloween Collectibles
Vintage candy containers, die-cuts of witches, jack-o-lanterns, and even vintage posters can be sought-after collectors’ items. Collectors often pay surprising amounts for that one item that can round out their collections or create the ambiance they want to create on October 31.
Halloween collectibles in good condition also tend to be rare, because most memorabilia is in terrible shape. One reason is the way many items were made. For instance, at one time Halloween lanterns were made of paper mâché or pressed cardboard, and then held a candle inside them. Most went up in flames, but a mint-condition lantern from this era once sold for $4600.

Christmas Collectibles
It’s probably no surprise that certain vintage Christmas ornaments or ornaments hailing from a hard-to-find limited edition series can fetch incredible prices. Some memorabilia, like Bubble Lites, vintage wooden scenes, candy containers, and candles, can all be quite valuable as well. Even old Christmas cards can hold value for the right buyer.
Old holiday special records produced by performers from the 1930s to the early 1980s can do very well at auction, too. In the right condition that Christmas With the Chipmunks vinyl record some of us can remember listening to as children can go for $40 to $100.

Independence Day / 4th of July Collectibles
Vintage fireworks, also known as pyrobilia, have a serious following, particularly among fireworks enthusisasts. Many are happy just to collect the empty boxes if they are in good condition, with boxes manufactured prior to 1965 typically selling for the most (if they’re in good condition).
Yet July 4th memorabilia goes beyond fireworks. Many collectors focus on patriotic jewelry and vintage clothing designed to celebrate the holiday. Others love vintage decorations like Uncle Sam figurines, corsage decorations, and statues.
In general, if it’s vintage and in good condition it’s worth looking at. Our nation has celebrated the 4th of July since 1777. If you can find something from the 1700s or 1800s that’s in good condition you may have a very valuable piece on your hands.
Other Holiday Collectibles
What about other major holidays, like Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, or Easter? If there’s a holiday you can think of, there’s probably vintage memorabilia out there for it, and there’s someone who is enthusiastic enough to pay significant money for it.
Though for whatever reasons some holidays may not have collectibles that fetch the kind of prices that Halloween and Christmas collectibles can, it may still be worth having any memorabilia you have appraised.
